DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake women's soccer team had four student-athletes –
Claire Emmerich,
Addie Ford,
Zoey Mahoney, and
Madelyn Smith – named Academic All-District selections by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced.
Emmerich appeared in all 19 matches for the Bulldogs and made 15 starts. She totaled eight points notching three goals and two assists in her sophomore campaign. Emmerich's season was highlighted by scoring the game-winner to help the Bulldogs clinch the MVC regular season championship against Southern Illinois.
Ford, a junior, was a stalwart in the net for the Bulldogs and complied 52 saves on the season for a save percentage of .813. The Davenport, Iowa native also produced six solo clean sheets.
Mahoney provided a steady force to the Drake defense and displayed her skills on the offensive end providing two goals. The junior appeared in every match for the Bulldogs with 17 starts logging the most minutes for a position player with 1,540.
Smith concluded her collegiate career starting in every match and being the conductor of all the action from her midfielder position. She logged two goals and four assists in her final season in Des Moines.
The 2025 Academic All-District Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
