Dinnebier Named Mid-Major Player of the Year Semifinalist

Senior guard earns distinction for second straight year

HOPEWELL, N.J. – Drake's Katie Dinnebier has been named semifinalists for the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award presented by Her Hoop Stats.

Dinnebier is currently first in The Valley in assists per game (7.6) and total assists (174), ranking first and second, respectively, in Division I. The point guard eclipsed 700 career assists last weekend, becoming the second player in league history to ever do so. Dinnebier, who is currently averaging 19.9 points per game, joins Kentucky's Georgia Amoore as the only pair in the nation averaging at least 19.0 points and 7.0 assists per outing this season.

The Becky Hammon Award was first given out in 2020. This year's semifinalists include representatives from 10 teams and seven conferences. The Missouri Valley Conference joins the A-10 as the only two leagues to have multiple representatives on the list as Murray State's Katelyn Young was also included.

The 25-player preseason watch list was announced in October, and 15 midseason watch list members were announced in January. The five finalists will be announced in early March, with the winner announced around the Final Four. The list is fluid, and players may play their way on or off it over the course of the season.
