DES MOINES, Iowa – The high school track and field season in Iowa has begun and, through Mar. 31, Iowa's prep stars have already produced some impressive results. Currently, 128 boys' and girls' individual performances and relays are #BlueOvalBound thanks to achieving the Blue Standard.
"The Iowa high school component is a cornerstone of the Drake Relays," Franklin P. Johnson Director of the Drake Relays Blake Boldon said. "Our entire staff is excited for the competition between Iowa's best athletes and cannot wait to share those memories and experiences with all America's Athletic Classic participants."
The Blue Standards were set by the Drake Relays committee based on historical data from the top 25 percent of accepted entries from past Drake Relays. For teams and athletes that do not attain a Blue Standard, the fields will be filled through the same protocol used in previous years and outlined in the Iowa High School Entry Information Packet.
Blue Standard qualifiers will continue to roll in as the Iowa high school track and field season progresses. The Drake Relays committee and all those associated with it congratulate the following athletes who have already secured their spot in the 115th Drake Relays presented by Xtream powered by Mediacom.

Coaches should note that recording a Blue Standard time or distance does not automatically enter an athlete into the Drake Relays. Official participants are required to enter via the Relays' online entry portal which will open on Monday, Mar. 3 on Varsity Bound and close at 6 a.m. CST on Friday, Apr. 18. The Drake Relays accepts only Iowa High School athletes and times from meets run with Fully Automatic Timing (FAT).
