Drake women's tennis will hit the road for a short drive north to Cedar Falls where they will square off with the Panthers of UNI. Drake and UNI are set to get things going at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 12.
Bulldog Breakdown
The Drake women enter this weekend at 4-13 overall and 1-4 in Missouri Valley Conference action.
The Bulldogs split their two matches last weekend including their first Missouri Valley Conference victory of the season. Drake got a great weekend from freshman
Shiori Takeda with a singles and doubles win. The Bulldogs took down Valparaiso 4-3 before suffering a 7-0 loss to UIC.
Scouting the Competition
UNI is in a similar position as their Bulldog counterpart with a 5-13 overall record and a 2-3 mark in MVC play. The Panthers have won two of their last three tilts including a 5-2 defeat of Valpo and a 5-2 win over Bradley. UNI will be looking to improve upon its 2-6 home record this weekend.
Drake owns a 17-5 all-time advantage over their rival Panthers with wins in the last six matchups. UNI's last win came in Cedar Falls during the 2016-17 season. The Bulldogs are 6-3 when facing UNI in Cedar Falls.
