ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Senior forward, Eve Blakey, of Drake women's soccer was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
 
The Newcastle, England, native led the offensive charge for Drake to a win and a draw in a pair of road matches against Western Illinois and Iowa State. Blakey tallied a six-point match against WIU scoring two goals and adding two assists in the 5-0 rout over the Leathernecks. Blakey's impressive offensive output against Western Illinois powered Drake to scoring the most goals in a match since 2015. She currently leads the Bulldogs in points (8), goals (3), assists (2), shots (8), and shots on goal (6) through the first four games of the season.
 
Blakey and the Bulldogs will be back on the pitch for a road contest against SIUE on Thursday, August 28. Kickoff against the Cougars is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
