DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Drake University women's tennis team will begin its 2025 fall season this weekend, looking to take another step in year two of the
Calvin Song era.
Drake begins play Sept. 19-21 at the Minnesota Invite in Minneapolis, before heading to Normal, Ill. for the Redbird Invitational from Sep. 26-28.
The Bulldogs then travel to Norman, Oklahoma, for the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 16-19
The fall season concludes back at home with the Drake Invite from Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Des Moines.
"I'm excited to see all our players compete this fall," Drake head coach Song said. "They've been putting in the work all summer and I know they're ready to make big waves. We have several players who will be playing their first fall at Drake and I'm eager to have some new transfers make an impact."
A trio of key returners in
Elizabete Klavinska,
Jana Ruzic, and
Shiori Takeda, combine with some new Bulldog blood as Song looks to lead the Bulldogs back to postseason play. Newcomers
Maja Dodik, a West Virginia transfer with four years of high-level experience in the Big 12 Conference, and
Jordane Dookie, a former Division II standout with international experience representing her home country of Trinidad and Tobago at the Billie Jean King Cup, will look to make additional impact for the Bulldogs.
Drake's 2025-26 schedule will resume in January as the Bulldogs set their sights on MVC play.
