ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake volleyball's
Kacia Brown has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
The Waterloo, Iowa, native had a big weekend leading the Drake Bulldogs to a 2-1 record during their recent tournament at the 305 Challenge picking up wins over North Texas and Florida International. Brown displayed her skills on both sides of the net and racked up a team-high 43 kills over Drake's three matches while hitting at an impressive clip of .354. On the defensive side, she tallied 29 digs, which was the second highest mark for Drake, and added a pair of blocks to her stat line. In total, the graduate student scored a total of 48 points over the tournament with the addition of four service aces.
Brown and Drake return to the court later this week as they take on Grand Canyon on Friday, Sep. 12 from the Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
