Men's Basketball Preview: Indiana State & Bradley

Drake continues league play in new year with dates against Sycamores and Braves

The Basics
The Drake men's basketball team begins the new year from the comforts of home as it hosts Indiana State on Sunday afternoon for the Bulldogs' first action in 2026. The Bulldogs will then hit the road for their next contest a couple of days later on Jan. 7 to face rival Bradley from Peoria.

Bulldogs by the Numbers
Drake comes into the new year and the halfway point of the season with an even overall record of 7-7. In the early stages of league play, the Bulldogs are 1-2 against Missouri Valley Conference opponents and will look to pick up their first home conference win of the season on Sunday afternoon. Drake will also look to end a three-game home losing streak as it holds a record of 3-5 from the Knapp Center this season.

Despite suffering a loss to Illinois State in its last time out, Drake's defense displayed its tenacity. The Bulldogs forced the Redbirds to commit 23 turnovers, which marked a season high. 12 of the 23 turnovers forced by Drake were steals, which also were a season high for the Bulldogs.
