ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake sophomore thrower Ethan Elliott etched his name in the Bulldog record books last weekend and earned the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week award in doing so.

Elliott claimed first place in the shot put at the Cyclone Open, posting a mark of 18.74m (60-5 3/4). The throw tied the program record for indoor shot put and currently leads the Missouri Valley Conference. Elliott's mark also ranks third in the Midwest Region and 14th in NCAA Division I this season.

The Bulldogs will be back in action this weekend at Mizzou's Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational in Columbia.
