ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Drake women's tennis picked up its third 4-3 loss in as many matches to start the 2026 season on Saturday evening.
Maja Dodik highlighted the Bulldogs' night at Lindenwood with a 6-2, 6-3 win in singles action over the Lions' No. 1 player Fabiana Labrador. Dodik partnered with
Kristina Tai to pick up a No. 1 doubles win earlier in the evening over Labrador and Paola Garcia, 6-3.
Shiori Takeda and
Milana Dejanovic were also victorious in doubles action with a convincing 6-1 result over Lindenwood's No. 3 team of Megan Caffin and Matthilde Humbert.
Elizabete Klavinska provided the final Drake point in the No. 6 singles bout with a dramatic 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 come-from-behind win over Humbert. Klavinska's fireworks were not enough, though, as the Lions secured the overall victory with wins in four of six singles matches.
Drake, now 0-3 on the season, will return home to host Creighton (Feb. 6) and Kansas City (Feb. 8) in its next two matches.
