ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Bulldog thrower Sam Carpenter has earned his second league award of the season with another MVC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced today.

Carpenter showed out again at a competitive Iowa Open with a fourth-place finish in the men's weight throw. He took fourth with a Bulldog record heave of 21.76m/71-4 3/4. It was the highest nationally ranked performance of all MVC field athletes this week and made him the third highest nationally MVC athlete overall. Carpenter now leads The Valley after achieving the farthest weight throw in the conference since 2018. He ranks seventh in the Midwest Region and 23rd nationally.

Carpenter and the rest of the Bulldogs will head to Indianapolis this weekend for the MVC Indoor Championships from Mar. 1-2.
