CHICAGO, Ill. – The Drake women's tennis team on the road in the Windy City for its regular season finale on Sunday. The Bulldogs did their best against an unbeaten UIC club, but the Flames were too hot to handle in the 4-2 finish.
Drake earned the doubles point with wins by
Maja Dodik and
Jordane Dookie in the No. 1 spot plus
Shiori Takeda and
Kristina Tai in the No. 2 match. That early success was all the Dogs could manage as UIC controlled the singles action.
Dodik and Dookie were both beaten in their singles bouts, the respective Nos. 1 and 5 matches. Takeda was taken down by the Flames' Nia Cooper in the third spot while Tai could not match up with Anais Brown in the No. 2 singles tussle.
Milana Dejanovic gave Drake another tally, but it was too late to threaten the Flames as UIC secured the 5-2 result.
Drake now enters the 2026 MVC Tennis Championship as the No. 5 seed in bracket play. The Bulldogs will take on No. 4 Bradley at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 24 back in Chicago.
