Below is the information for the 2026 Elementary and Middle School events:

Entries for the elementary and middle school events are currently closed. When entries are open, you will be able to submit waivers through the button above. All student-athletes must have a completed waiver in order to compete at the Drake Relays.

Entry form deadline: March 6th, 2026
Verified meet result deadline: April 15th, 2026


School Entry Process:

  1. Complete a '2026 Intent to Enter' form (either from the button above or copy received via email)
  2. Submit entry form via email and process payment digitally at that time OR return entry form by mail with a check enclosed
    • Please note that payment is only due for elementary teams and the 4x100 event upon submission of your entry form. DMR payment will not be due until after teams have confirmed their qualification.
  3. When payment is received, coaches will be emailed the '2026 Athlete Entry Form'
  4. Submit Athlete Entry Form via email when runners' names are confirmed. These are the names that will be printed in the Drake Relays program.

Note to Elementary Teams:

The Elementary Shuttle will take place on Thursday night with the Distance Carnival! The tentative plan is that the shuttle will take place at 5:22 PM. As always, we will be accepting both boys and girls teams from the same school OR one co-ed team from that school. A single elementary school may not enter all three team divisions. The Elementary Shuttle will accept 25 co-ed teams, 25 girls teams, and 25 boys teams. The timeline will be very similar to past years and will be explained in the Coaches Information sheet upon confirmation of your school's entry.


Note to Middle School Boys & Girls Teams:

The middle school events will be similar to last year. A 4x100 Meter Relay will take place on the Jim Duncan track on Friday night, April 24, 2026. The tentative time for the middle school 4x100 is 5:52 PM. The first 40 girls and 40 boys teams who enter will be allowed to compete. Complete your entry form as soon as possible, as these events fill quickly. Payment for the 4x100 event will be due upon submission.

On the schedule for the 116th Drake Relays is also the Middle School 1600m (200-200-400-800) Medley Relay (DMR). Tentatively, this will be the first event of the evening session on Friday, April 24th, at 5:00 PM.  Eight girls teams and eight boys teams will be selected to run based on verified meet times. Once you have turned in the Intent to Enter form by March 6th, the deadline for time submissions is April 15th, 2026, at 10:00 PM. You can submit verified meet times to meetmgmt@drake.edu and payment for the DMR can be sent
after teams have been confirmed/notified that their school has qualified.

DMR Relay teams will be announced after all 2026 verified meet times are evaluated. Verified meet results should be submitted no later than April 15th, 2026.
