Christian Nussbaum is in his second season on the Drake football coaching staff. Nussbaum spent the 2022 season working with Willie Cashmore as a defensive line assistant before being promoted to defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator in the summer of 2023.
Nussbaum has helped mentor a Drake defensive line that led the PFL in sacks in 2023 including Buck Buchanan Award finalist Finn Claypool. He led Drake football student-athletes on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in May of 2023.
The Naperville, Ill., native played for three seasons at Wheaton College before graduating from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in history.
Nussbaum was a volunteer assistant football coach at Mahomet-Seymour High School in Illinois from 2019-21.
