Biography

Three-year letterwinner at linebacker who makes the switch as a fifth-year senior to the offensive side of the ball...expected to compete for duty as wide receiver and as J-Back.

 

2011 — Pulled in two tackles in win at Butler..

 

2010 — Appeared in seven games and made five starts, collecting nine tackles (7 solo) and a pass breakup.

  • Started the first four games and the Davidson contest (10/23) on the linebacking corps.
  • Recorded two solo tackles each at Valparaiso (9/25) and vs. Davidson (10/23).

2009 — Appeared in eight games and made two tackles…had 15-yard kickoff return at South Dakota.

 

2008 — Collected six tackles on the season...recorded four tackles vs. Campbell...forced fumble and recovered fumble vs. William Penn.

 

2007 — Redshirted.

 

Prep — Earned second team all-state honors while leading Wheaton Warrenville South High School to 2008 Illinois Class 8A state football title in 2006...also standout weight thrower on track and field team leading squad to league title.

 

Personal — Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management major...recipient of Drake Presidential Scholarship...son of Martha Gale and Larry Nelson...born Sept. 19, 1988.
