Drake University Athletics

Chris McMahon is in his second season on the Drake men's basketball staff as the team's video coordinator. McMahon joined the program in 2015 after five seasons as the head coach at nearby Des Moines Roosevelt High School.

In 2013, he led Roosevelt to its first state tournament appearance in 32 years after winning a CIML Metro Conference title in 2012. That title earned him CIML Metro Conference coach of the year honors. Under his leadership, the program was a sub-state finalists three-straight seasons in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

In July of 2014, he was an assistant coach for a Division III national team tour of Brazil.

Before taking the reigns at Roosevelt, he was a four-year head coach at Saydel High School. He began his high school coaching career as an assistant at Des Moines Hoover.

McMahon is a 2003 graduate of Grand View University with a degree in secondary education.
