High School – Multi-sport star at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who earned academic all-conference as a junior and senior and was four-year honor roll member, competing in Iowa Class 4A...lettered in basketball, football and soccer, and also participated in baseball and track and field...was team MVP and all-conference as a senior in basketball, leading team in scoring (10.1), rebounding (2.1), steals (2.2) and assists (2.4)...earned all-conference and all-metro honors in football as a senior defensive back with 55 tackles and eight interceptions...football team was state semifinalist his junior year...competed in football and basketball all four years; in soccer all but junior year; in track and field as a junior and in baseball as a freshman and sophomore.
