Biography
2026 Outdoor: MVC Third-Place honors in the 400m hurdles...recorded personal-best times of 52.93 in the 400H at the MVC Outdoor Championships and 22.61 in the 200-meter dash at the Cyclone Twilight...finished runner-up in the 4X400 and fourth place in the 400H at the Jim Duncan Invitational...finished third in the 400H at the Big Red Classic...finished third in the 4X400 at the Drake Relays...finished third in the 400m hurdles and seventh in the 4X400 at the MVC Outdoor Championships.
2026 Indoor: Started the indoor campaign off with a third-place finish in the 4X400, along with a personal-record time of 1:13.04 and fourth-place finish in the 600y at the Bill Bergan Classic...recorded a runner-up finish in the 4X400 at the Cyclone Open...finished fourth in the 4X400, sixth in the DMR, and 20th in the 400 at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
2025 Outdoor: Senior spring highlighted by personal best 400 time of 48.93 at Cyclone Twilight…added fifth place 400 finish in 50.56 at Central College Dutch Invitational…finished third in Jim Duncan Invitational, MVC Championships, and Musco Twilight 400m hurdles with season fastest time of 52.94 at conference meet…member of section-winning 4x400 relay team at Drake Relays with time of 3:13.24.
2025 Indoor: Started indoor campaign with 600y personal best of 1:14.18, the winning time at the Bill Bergan Open…member of fourth place 4x400 relay team at Iowa State Classic (3:19.70) and sixth place 4x400 group at MVC Indoor Championships (3:19.85).
2024 Outdoor: Specialized in 400s and 400 hurdles with a few sprints in 4x100 and 4x200 relays…fastest 400 time came in first outdoor meet of the spring with 50.95 fourth place run at Wartburg Good Friday Challenge…best 400 hurdles result came on the historic Blue Oval with 54.48 at Jim Duncan Invitational.
2024 Indoor: Posted top time of 1:24.27 in 600 at Black and Gold Invite, good enough for third place…member of winning 4x400 relay team with 3:20.94 at Cyclone Open.
2022 Indoor: Had one of two top 10 finishes in opening event with sixth place, 52.49 400m dash at Jimmy Grant Invite…other top 10 result, an eighth place mark, came as member of 3:25.65 4x400 relay team at Iowa State Classic…recorded season-best times of 7.47 in the 60m dash at the Iowa State Classic and 8.86 in the 60m hurdles at the MVC Indoor Championships.
2021 Outdoor: Earned a trio of runner-up honors at home with a 56.33 400m hurdles run and 3:24.87 4x400 relay at Blue Oval Invitational plus 56.66 400m hurdles at Jim Duncan Invitational…fastest 400 hurdles time of 55.14 came in MVC Championships preliminary round.
2021 Indoor: Best 200m finish was 23.42 at Iowa State Classic, good enough for 11th place…added third place finishes in USD Invite 400 (53.57) and Cyclone Open 4x400 relay (3:30.04)…fastest 400 time of 51.29 also came at Iowa State Classic while fastest 4x400 mark of 3:24.04 came at MVC Championships.
Prior to Drake: Has received a medal at state competitions in all four years of high school at Ankeny Centennial ... two time Drake Relays medalist ... owns a best of 53.35 and 8.56 in the 400m hurdles and 60m hurdles, respectively.
Personal: Son of Jamie and Tina DeAngelo ... his father was a quarterback for Drake University ... his mother was a pitcher for the Drake softball team and is currently an assistant softball coach at Drake University.
