Julian Vann is in his first season as an assistant Track and Field coach at Drake. Vann will work with the Bulldogs' high jump, long jump and triple jump athletes at Drake.
Before coming to Drake, Vann was a graduate assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi during the 2015- 2016 season where his focus was with middle distance runners. While at Southern Miss, Vann earned a master’s degree in sports management.
The Lithonia, Ga., native graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in political science. While a student-athlete at Ohio State, Vann was a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, and a two-time Big Ten scholar-athlete.
He posted personal best in triple jump with mark of 51-00 during the outdoor season. Vann also won the 2009 Georgia Class 5A state championship in triple jump while at Parkville High School.
