Sophomore Year (2007): Saw action in 12 contests, making two starts...averaged 0.43 digs per game...registered first career attack versus Western Michigan, while adding initial collegiate assist and season-best three digs at Northern Iowa...notched a pair of digs against Wichita State (Oct. 13).

Freshman Year (2006): Appeared in only match for the Bulldogs as a freshman...recorded four digs in two games at Wichita State (10/14/06).

Prep: Earned first-team honors on Texas Private Schools Super team by Fort Worth Star Telegram...two-time Female Athlete of Year at Oakridge High School...owns school career record in kills (469)...also competed in track.

Personal: Born Feb. 23, 1988...daughter of Kirk Word and Kayla Patton...dental hygiene major...has older brother, Tyler...recipient of Drake Presidential Scholarship.
