PEORIA, ILL. - Drake junior Ashley Anklam (Bloomington, Minn.) won the individual title at the Bradley Classic women's cross country meet Friday, covering the 6,000-meter race in 20 minutes 57 seconds to easily outdistance the field.

"Ashley ran a smart race," said Drake cross country coach Dan Hostager. "She took over the lead early and ran strong. This will be a great confidence booster heading into conference meet (Oct. 29 in Evansville, Ind.)."

Anklam was 15 seconds better than the 76-person field.

Drake junior Jennifer Reff (Fergus Falls, Minn.) was 36th in 23:47, while senior Kelly Malarkey (Prairie Village, Kan.) was 37th in 24:01.

Drake freshman Laura Zoulek (Butler, Wis.) was 40th in 24:11 and junior Avery Buresh (Wadena, Minn.) was 45th in 24:29.
