BEIJING, CHINA ?The fourth day of competition for track and field at the Olympics will include a whopping 23 Drake Relays alumni ? the most yet ? to converge on National Stadium.

Jeremy Wariner of Team USA will look to defend his Olympic gold medal in the men's 400 meters beginning on Sunday night. The No. 1 ranked quartermiler in the world will run preliminary heats of the 400 on Sunday at 8:49 p.m. Cental time.

Wariner, who won the invitational 200 at the 2006 Drake Relays, is one of 10 Drake Relays champions who will be competing on the fourth day of competition.

The qualifying heats of the men's 400 features five former Drake Relays athletes including Michael Blackwood of Jamaica who won the invitational 400 at the 2001 Drake Relays while running for Oklahoma.

Lolo Jones, the outstanding women's performer at the 2008 Drake Relays, will run in the first heat in the semifinal round of the women's 100 hurdles. The race will also feature Drake Relays alumni Aurelia Trywianska-Kollash of Poland (ex-Iowa State) and Priscilla Lopes-Schliep from Canada (ex-Nebraska).

The other semifinal heat includes three Drake Relays alumni: Susanna Kallur of Sweden (ex-Illinois) who won the 2001 Drake Relays crown; Dawn Harper of Team USA; and Vonette Dixon of Jamaica who was second at the 2008 Drake Relays.

Meanwhile, the opening round of the men's 110 hurdles also will take place with four Drake Relays alumni including David Payne of Team USA who won the 2006 Drake Relays title.

The qualifying heat of the women's hammer throw includes Argentina's Jennifer Dahlgren, who won three straight Drake Relays titles (2002-04) while attending the University of Georgia.

Churandy Martina of the Netherlands Antilles, who placed fourth in the finals of the men's 100 Saturday, will run in a qualifying heat of the 200. While competing for Texas-El Paso, Martina won the invitational 100 at the 2005 Drake Relays.

Jamaica's Marvin Anderson, who won the 200 at the 2007 Drake Relays, also will compete in the 200 at National Stadium.

2008 Drake Relays champion April Steiner from Team USA hopes to medal during the finals of the women's pole vault.
