COLUMBIA, MO. - Senior Sarah Plowman (Halifax, Nova Scotia/Halifax Grammar) and freshman Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Saint George School) will play for singles titles at the Missouri Invitational after the Drake women's tennis team finished second day action on Saturday (Sept. 13) with 6-6 and 1-3 ledgers in singles and doubles play, respectively.

Aguilera advanced to the “B” single championship after registering victories over Maureen Modesto of Missouri and Joe Becker of Saint Louis. Aguilera bested Modesto, 6-4, 3-6, 10-8, before downing Becker, 6-4, 6-0.

Plowman matched the feat in the “C” draw by defeating Caitlin Boukulic, 6-1, 6-2.

Also recording singles victories were freshmen Gabby Demos (Chesterfield, Mo./Lafayette), Morgan Rainey (Kansas City, Mo./Barstow School) and senior Kari Sloboth (Omaha, Neb./Burke).

Sloboth and freshman Earlynn Lauer (Wichita, Kan./Goddard) accounted for Drake's doubles win as the duo downed Jillian Yakominich and Jessica Ball of UMKC.

Tournament play concludes on Sunday (Sept. 14).
