KANSAS CITY, MO. - The Drake women's tennis team finished off a successful day of tennis with a bang on Saturday (Feb. 14) as the Bulldogs garnered a 7-0 victory over Rockhurst.

The win was the second of the day for Drake and pushed its ledger to 3-5 overall, while dropping the Hawks to 2-1 on the season.

The Bulldogs swept all three doubles matches to assume a lead they didn't relinquish in the tilt.

Making the most of her first appearance of the spring was freshman Earlynn Lauer (Wichita, Kan.), who posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph against Jaycie Schmidt at the No. 6 singles position.

Contributing wins at the Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 slots for Drake was senior Veronika Leszayova (Povazska Bystrica, Slovak Republic), freshman Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.), freshman Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia), senior Kari Sloboth (Omaha, Neb.) and freshman Amanda Aragon (Fort Collins, Colo.).

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday (Feb. 20) as Drake faces Missouri in a 4:00 p.m. match.
