DES MOINES, IOWA - Corralling its sixth straight victory, the Drake women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 5-2 decision over Evansville on Sunday (April 5) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs remained perfect at home (5-0) this season with the win and now stand at 9-8 overall, while the Purple Aces dropped to 8-6 on the year, including 1-2 in league action.

Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.) and senior
Kari Sloboth (Omaha, Neb.) captured the doubles tally for the Bulldogs downing Allie Cox and Stephanie Millis at the No. 3 position, 8-2.

Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) added victories at the Nos. 5 and 4 slots to present Drake with a 3-0 advantage.
Evansville rallied with a pair of triumphs on the Nos. 1 and 3 courts to cut the deficit to 3-2, before freshman
Amanda Aragon (Fort Collins, Colo.) earned a 6-2, 6-7 (9), 7-5 win against Millis at the No. 6 hole to clinch the victory for the Bulldogs.
Demos rounded out the win total for Drake with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 decision against Ashton Schwerin on the No. 2 court.
Drake begins a three-match road swing on Friday (April 10) as the Bulldogs battle Bradley in a 1:00 p.m. matinee affair.
