DES MOINES, IOWA - Drake senior Steve Platek (Arlington Heights, Ill.) was one of 50 players named to Fabulous Fifty Team for Division I Football Championship Subdivision All-American honors from College Sporting News as selected by staff members.

Platek earned honorable mention honors. He was a two-time first-team All-Pioneer Football League selection and named the most valuable player for the Bulldogs this past fall.
 
Platek, a co-captain, led Drake with a team-high nine touchdowns. He caught a team-best 49 passes for 553 yards, including three touchdowns. He also rushed 30 times for 147 yards, including a team-high six touchdowns.
