TULSA, OKLA. - Drake men's tennis senior Mauricio Ballivian (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) run at the D'Novo/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Tennis Championships came to an end one win shy of reaching the tournament's qualifying round posting a 1-1 record in pre-qualifying play on Sunday (Oct. 3).

Ballivian opened his day defeating Benjamin Chomette of Old Dominion, 6-3, 6-0 before tangling with Missouri Valley Conference rival Alexander Pelaez of Illinois State, who outlasted him, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.

Ballivian and the rest of the Bulldogs return to action at the ITA Central Regional (Oct. 21-25) in Norman, Okla.
