DES MOINES, IOWA - The Drake men's tennis team will vie for as many as eight
titles after posting an 8-5 combined singles/doubles ledger, including 6-1 in
singles, in second-day action at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference
Individuals on Saturday (Jan. 22) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs, who are tied with Indiana State for the most
crowns in tournament history with 50, will look to break that tie when action
resumes on Sunday (Jan. 23) at 9:00 a.m.
Moving in the title matches at the Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7
flights were senior Mauricio Ballivian (Santa Cruz, Bolivia), sophomore James McKie (Edinburgh, Scotland), sophomore Jean Erasmus (Windhoek,
Namibia), sophomore Anis Ghorbel (Sfax, Tunisia), freshman Robin Goodman (Cambridge, England) and sophomore Ryan Drake (Hilton Head
Island, S.C.).
The Bulldogs will also battle to earn crowns at the first
and third doubles holes, respectively.
