DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake
women's soccer team was honored for its academic success by the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as a College Team Academic Award Winner
for 2011.
Drake was honored for the ninth consecutive campaign for maintaining a
team grade point average of 3.31 for the 2010-11 academic year. The Bulldogs
were one of 571 women's programs across all levels of collegiate soccer to be
so recognized across the country.
"I am proud of our 3.31 team
grade point average over the last academic year, more specifically with our
players' ability to improve their grades as they matured through focus and
commitment," Drake head coach Lindsey Horner commented.
Four Bulldogs received All-MVC recognition and junior Laura Moklestad (Des Moines,
Iowa/Roosevelt) was named to the All-MVC Scholar-Athlete team.
