its second Big XII Conference opponent in as many matches, Drake came up short
in dropping a 6-1 women's tennis decision at Kansas on Saturday (Feb. 5).
The Jayhawks swept all three doubles contests to establish a lead they
didn't relinquish en route to victory.
The Bulldogs garnered their lone triumph at No. 2 singles where junior Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.)
downed Sara Lazerevic, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (2).
Senior Jessica Labarte
(Barcelona, Venezuela) battled Dylan Windom three sets at No. 5 before dropping
a, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 decision.
Drake returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 12) as the Bulldogs open their
home campaign at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center hosting Gustavus Adolphus and
Graceland at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
