ORLANDO, FLA. - In the first of four matches on its spring trip, the Drake
women's tennis team came up short in its pursuit of victory as Coastal Carolina
registered a 6-1 triumph over the Bulldogs on Tuesday (March 15).
The Chanticleers won the doubles point in the affair, but not
before the tandem of junior Amanda Aragon (Fort Collins, Colo.) and senior Jessica Labarte (Barcelona, Venezuela) recorded an
8-2 decision over Caitlyn Brooksbank and Amanda Malatek at No. 3.
Labarte accounted for Drake's lone triumph in singles, again besting Brooksbank, 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 4 position.
The Bulldogs resume their four-match road swing on Wednesday
(March 16) with a 10:30 a.m. tilt against Jacksonville.
