MURRAY, KY. - The Drake men's tennis team extended its winning streak to six straight matches after capping its spring trip with a 6-1 victory over Murray State on Friday (March 18).

Drake swept the doubles competition with the tandem of sophomores Jean Erasmus (Windhoek, Namibia) and James McKie (Edinburgh, Scotland) winning the doubles point on the strength of an 8-3 decision at No. 2 past Renaldo Domoney and Luke Milicevic.

Erasmus and McKie extended Drake's advantage to 3-0 in singles with triumphs at the Nos. 2 and 3 slots, respectively.

Erasmus bested Joao Camara at No. 2, 6-0, 6-2, while McKie downed Milicevic, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3.

Securing the deciding point for Drake at No. 4 was sophomore Anis Ghorbel (Sfax, Tunisia), who defeated Domoney, 6-0, 6-3.

Also garnering triumphs for the Bulldogs were senior Mauricio Ballivian (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) and junior Cesar Bracho (Luque, Paraguay).

Drake returns to action on March 26 opening Missouri Valley Conference play at Creighton.
