DES MOINES, Iowa - Drake
head women's tennis coach Paul Thomson
has announced the addition of high school standout Amanda Dick (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph Academy) to the Bulldog program for the 2011-12 academic year.
"We're very glad to have Amanda," Thomson commented. "She is an athletic, charismatic,
young lady that is going to help bring a new energy to the program as we move
into the future."
A three-time all-state selection at St. Joseph Academy, Dick helped lead
the Lancers to a Midwest Classic Conference title as a freshman.
A state qualifier in singles during each of her four campaigns, Dick
advanced to the semifinal round in each of her final three seasons, becoming
the first player at St. Joseph Academy to do so as a sophomore. Her 87-15 career combined
singles/doubles record stands as the best in school history.
