DeGrave, last year's Missouri Valley Conference

dash with a time of 22.30
“DeGrave's 200-meter race was a good season
opener,” commented head coach Natasha Brown. “He should run sub 22
seconds very soon.”
Fellow senior Shaun James (Lawrence, Kan.) garnered a third-place showing in the
200-meters clocking in at 22.72.
Twombly, who owns the Drake record in the
indoor weight throw and the hammer throw, earned the victory in the weight throw with a heave of
56 feet 6.75 inches.
“His technique has really improved,” Brown stated. “He looks great for it being early on in the season.”
