CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Junior Dan Karys (Bartlett, Ill.) won the long jump and finished
second in the triple jump to lead the Drake men's track team at the Jack
Jennett Invitational at the UNI Dome on Saturday.
Karys leapt 23 feet 3.5 inches in the
long jump to win the event. He soared 46 feet in the triple jump while teammate
sophomore Alex Kaster (Omaha, Neb.) was fourth in the triple jump
leaping 45 feet 5.25 inches.
The Drake 4x400 team of sophomore Travis Marsh (Ankeny, Iowa), senior Shaun James (Lawrence, Kan.), senior Jon DeGrave (Lake Villa, Ill.) and Karys were second finishing in 3:19.66, less
than one-tenth of a second behind UNI.
DeGrave also was second in the 200-meter
dash clocking in at 22.37.
Junior Isaac Twombly (Baldwin,
Kan.) was second in the weight throw with his heave of 58 feet 4.75 inches.
The Bulldogs travel to Lincoln, Neb., on Feb. 3 and 4 to take
part in the Frank Sevigne Invitational.
