AMES, Iowa -- The Drake track and field squads, in the final day of the Iowa State Classic, turned in some impressive performances on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Lied Recreation Center.

On the men's side, sophomore Brogan Austin (Boone, Iowa) was eighth in the seeded 3,000-meter race in 8:20.30.

Fellow sophomore Omet Kak (Des Moines, Iowa) placed 10th in the seeded mile finishing in 4:12.36.

For the women, junior Marissa Smith (Ajax, Ontario) placed 16th in the finals of the 60-meter dash clocking in at 9.10.

The Bulldogs will travel to Iowa City, Iowa to partake in the Iowa Invitational on Friday, Feb. 18. This will mark the last meet for Drake until the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track And Field Championship in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Feb. 25-26.
