Hadash Named MVC's Elite 18 Winner For Men's Tennis

OMAHA, Neb. - Drake senior Jonathan Hadash (Lapid, Israel) has been selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Elite 18 Award winner for the second-consecutive season for men's tennis, the league announced on Sunday (April 29).

The Elite 18 Award program was established by the MVC in the Fall of 2010 to honor the highest achievement on academics and athletics by a student-athlete in each league-sponsored sport.  Modeled after the NCAA Elite 88 Academic Recognition Award Program, the MVC Elite 18 award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point-average competing at the finals site of each of the league's 18 team championships.

Hadash boasts a 3.91 GPA, majoring in accounting.  He has helped Drake to a No. 48 ITA ranking, and the Bulldogs' sixth NCAA Tournament berth on the strength of a 18-3 singles record.  He also was named a first team All-MVC scholar-athlete selection for the second-straight season in 2012.
