DES MOINES, Iowa - Drake head women's tennis coach Paul Thomson has announced the signing Evy Van Genechten (Antwerp, Belgium) to a national letter of intent to join the Bulldog program for the 2012-13 academic year.

"I am very excited about adding Evy to our fall class," Thomson commented.  "She is an outstanding student as well as a phenomenal athlete. She is a very strong young player who possesses great foot speed and I believe she will add some punch to our line-up as well as our team chemistry."

Van Genechten joins Mariel Ante, Jordan Eggleston and Maddie Johnson, who previously signed national letters of intent with Thomson and the Bulldogs, as members of Drake's 2012-13 freshman class.
