FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior Charlie Lapham
(Golden Valley, Minn.) ran a personal best in the 1500 against some of the
nation's best runners at the Arkansas Twilight on Friday, May 4.
Lapham's time of 3:46.79
earned a sixth-place showing, while sophomore Omet Kak (Des Moines, Iowa) claimed eighth in 3:47.53.
“Both guys competed very
well against some of the best runners in the nation,” commented distance coach Dan Hostager. “It was a huge personal
best for Charlie and positions him for a chance at the preliminary round of
nationals in Austin, Texas. We are excited for the conference championships next
weekend.”
The Bulldogs will travel to
Wichita, Kan. to compete in the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor
Track And Field Championship on May 11-13.
