DES MOINES, Iowa - Drake head women's tennis coach Paul Thomson has announced the signing Lea Kozulic (Varazdin, Croatia) to a national letter of intent to join the Bulldog program for the 2012-13 academic year.

"We are very happy and fortunate to have Lea in the program," Thomson commented.  "She is a tremendous athlete, strong student and a terrific young lady. She will fit right in with our program and into the Drake family.  With five freshmen, we are obviously going to be very young this year, but we are going to be very athletic and just as deep as we were last year."

Kozulic owns playing experience in the U-16 and U-18 divisions at the National Championships of Croatia, including reaching three finals in 2010.  In 2009, she netted five finals' appearances and posted a pair of wins en route to collecting a top-10 national ranking.

Kozulic joins Mariel Ante, Jordan Eggleston and Maddie Johnson and Evy Van Genechten who previously signed national letters of intent with Thomson and the Bulldogs, as members of Drake's 2012-13 freshman class.
