ST. LOUIS, Mo. -
Drake University women's basketball sophomore Kyndal Clark (Webb City,
Mo.) has earned a pair of Missouri Valley Conference honors, the league
announced Wednesday afternoon prior to the start of the MVC Women's Basketball
tournament.
Clark was selected to the 2013 All-MVC second team after
leading Drake in scoring and ranking third in the conference at 14.8 points per
game. She was selected to the All-MVC Defensive team as well.
Clark's name is found in the top 10 of numerous
conference statistical categories. The Missouri native is averaging 2.5 steals
per game (2nd), 3.7 assists per game (6th) and minutes
played per game at 32.6 (10th). She has scored 20 or more points in
nine games this season, which ranks second in the conference behind Jacqui
Kalin of UNI.
Clark has 73 steals this season, which ranks as the ninth
most in a single season in Drake history. Clark recorded a career-high seven
steals in the win over Bradley and has recorded at least one steal in
14-straight contests. Last season she was named to the 2012 All-MVC Freshman
team.
Drake plays the Missouri State Bears in the first round
of the MVC tournament on Thursday at 4:05 p.m. at Family Arena in St. Charles,
Mo.
