DES MOINES, Iowa - Drake head women's golf coach Leanne Smith has announced a challenging five-tournament schedule for the 2013 fall campaign.

"I am excited about our fall schedule as we have added several new tournaments, ones I believe with the continued improvement I expect in our games, will allow us to compete for tournament titles,” Smith commented.  “Another plus to our schedule is that four of the five tournaments are closer to Iowa than in the past, allowing the team the opportunity to play in front of their families, which is always exciting.”

Drake gets its fall underway at the Redbird Invitational (Sept. 7-8), hosted by Illinois State in Normal, Ill.

The Bulldogs then travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., for South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Fall Invitational (Sept. 23-24).

Drake closes the month of September and opens October playing at the UMKC Fall Invitational (Sept. 30-Oct. 1), hosted by UMKC in Kansas City, Mo.

Following a two-week layoff, the Bulldogs travel to Springfield, Mo., for the Missouri State Payne Stewart Memorial (Oct. 14-15).

Drake rounds out its fall campaign visiting Lakewood Ranch, Fla., for the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational (Oct. 20-22), hosted by Florida International.
