BOSTON, Mass. – In the finale of its spring break trip, the Drake women's tennis dropped a 6-1 decision at Boston University (8-6) on Saturday (March 22).

The setback was the first for the Bulldogs (10-3) this season in eight matches away from the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Terriers garnered the doubles points on the strength of victories over Drake at the Nos. 1 and 3 positions, respectively.

The tandem of junior Nell Boyd (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and sophomore Jordan Eggleston (LaQuinta, Calif.) captured the Bulldogs' lone triumph in doubles besting Lauren Davis and Barbara Rodriguez on the No. 2 court, 8-2.

Four of the six singles matches went to a deciding third set. Unfortunately for Drake, Boston University secured the triumph in the affair winning three of those four contests.

Eggleston accounted for the Bulldogs' only triumph in singles as she edged Rodriguez at No. 5, 3-6, 6-2, 10-6.

Drake is scheduled to return to action hosting Upper Iowa and Northern Iowa at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center on March 30.
