As spring settles in at Drake University, construction on the Shivers Basketball Practice facility has progressed at a whirlwind pace.

On Wednesday, March 26, the first roofing joists that will cover the practice courts were lifted into place while the majority of the exterior walls have already been erected. The remainder of hte facility's exterior structure for the 40,000 square foot project is expected to be completed within the next three weeks.

To date, Drake has received extremely generous support from alumni and fans to raise more than $8 million towards the project. There is still time to be part of this historic project; all gifts of $1,000 or more will forever be honored inside the facility.
