EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Drake women's tennis team registered victories in five of its six singles matches to complete a come-from-behind 5-2 triumph past Evansville (5-10, 0-2 MVC) on Saturday (April 5).

The Purple Aces earned the early advantage in the affair claiming the doubles point on the strength of wins at the top two positions.

Sophomore Maddie Johnson (Onalaska, Wis.) opened singles for the Bulldogs (12-3, 2-0 MVC) posting a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 slot over Marina Moreno, to even the match at one.

Sophomore Jordan Eggleston (LaQuinta, Calif.) gave Drake the lead for good besting Andjela Brguljan on the No. 5 court, 6-1, 6-2.

Senior Klavdija Rebol (Kranj, Slovenia) moved the Bulldogs to within a point of victory after collecting a 6-3, 6-1 decision past Marketa Trousilova at the top spot.

Junior Nell Boyd (Arlington Heights, Ill.) garnered the match-clinching tally for Drake dispatching Kelsey Costales, 6-1, 7-5, at No. 4.

Sophomore Mariel Ante (Riverside, Calif.) capped the afternoon for the Bulldogs netting a 6-0, 7-6 (3) triumph versus Natasha James at the No. 2 position.

Drake closes out its weekend road swing with a 10:00 match at Southern Illinois on Sunday (April 6).
