ST. LOUIS – Junior Jordan Eggleston (LaQuinta, Calif.)
of the Drake women's tennis team has been selected the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Eggleston went 2-1 in singles and in 2-3 in doubles this past weekend at the Purdue Invite. She defeated the nation's No. 105 player Andjela Djokovic of No. 42 Purdue in singles action, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. Eggleston also handled Denver's Charlotte Dervyshire, 6-2, 6-4.

In doubles competition, she earned a pair of wins, teaming with Adrienne Jensen (Iowa City, Iowa) to defeat Michelle Garpenlov and Morgan Barnhill from No. 65 Denver, 6-0.  Later Eggleston and Tess Herder (Lee's Summit, Mo.) downed another duo from Denver, as the pair knocked off Barnhill and Evy Van Genechten, 6-4.

Drake travels to Wisconsin Saturday, Jan. 24 for at 2 p.m. match against the Badgers.
