The Game ...
• The Drake University men's basketball team travels to Wichita State for the second meeting between the two programs this season. WSU took the initial meeting, 66-58, in Des Moines on Dec. 31.
• As of Sunday, six of the Bulldogs' eight MVC games will have come against teams picked in the top five of the preseason MVC poll. The Bulldogs have yet to play Bradley, SIU or Evansville.
• The Bulldogs are coming off a two-game homestand that saw the squad go 1-1 with an 84-78 win over Indiana State.
• That win featured Drake shooting 70.6 percent from the three-point line, the eighth highest percentage in the nation this season with a minimum of 10 makes. Of the seven performances ranked above the Bulldogs, only three came against Division I competition and just one in conference play.
• After three-straight games decided by large margins, the Bulldogs' last three games have been back-and-forth contests that featured a combined 39 lead changes and 16 ties with the biggest lead by either team being 11 points.
• The reigning MVC Player of the Week, Gary Ricks, Jr., has scored 57 points in his last three games and is 14-of-28 from the arc during that span.
• In Drake's wins, the team averaged 79.2 points, shot 58.5 percent, 48.3 percent from three-point range, held a +3.5 advantage in rebounds and averaged 16.5 assists.
• Wichita State is 17-2 on the season and 7-0 in the MVC thanks to holding opposing offenses to just 57.3 points per game, the 17th lowest average in the nation.
