POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Drake men's golf team looks to end the start of the year on a high note as the Bulldogs close out the fall season at the Old Dominion/Outer Banks Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 25) through Tuesday (Oct. 27) at the Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C.
The three-day 52-hole event will feature 18 teams, including Akron, Bowling Green, Campbell, Delaware, Drake, Drexel, George Mason, Hartford, Hofstra, James Madison, La Salle, Longwood, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota State, Old Dominion, St. Francis, St. Joseph's and South Dakota.
The last time out for the Bulldogs was on Oct. 13 at the Bill Ross Invitational. Sophomore Matt Lavery fired the Bulldogs' best round of the final day with a 74 for a total score of 227 (77-76-74), while freshman Tommi Avant and senior Blake Huser each recorded a 77 on the final day. Avant was Drake's top finisher, placing tied for 20th with a score of 224 (74-73-77) as Huser posted a 225 (73-75-77). Sophomore Drew Ison and freshman Jack Kennedy rounded out the Bulldogs' performance with a score of 236 (78-78-80) and 237 (77-81-79), respectively.
