Natasha Kaiser-Brown To Be Inducted Into Missouri Sports Hall Of Fame

Bulldogs' head track and field coach and two-time Olympian adds to her storied resume

Drake University track and field head coach, two-time Olympian and former University of Missouri track star Natasha Kaiser-Brown has been selected for enshrinement into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Kaiser-Brown will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Jan. 31 in Springfield, Mo.

Kaiser-Brown, who is in her 15th season as the Bulldogs' head coach, came to Drake University in 2000 after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri for seven years. During her tenure as head coach the Bulldogs have set more than 40 school records and consistently produced individual MVC Champions and NCAA qualifiers.

During her tenure with the Bulldogs, she has also made the program one of the academically strongest teams in the nation.  In the last three seasons, the Bulldogs have had six MVC Elite 18 Award winners, more than any other program during that period. The teams have consistently been among the MVC leaders in Scholar-Athlete team selections and garnered yearly All-Academic Team accolades from the USTFCCCA. In 2015, the women's track and field team posted the 12th highest grade point average in the nation.

Before her coaching career, Kaiser-Brown, a native of Des Moines, graduated from Roosevelt High School where she was a nine-time Iowa state high school champion. At the University of Missouri Kaiser-Brown was a six-time All-American, five-time Big 8 Conference champion and was named the 1989 Big 8 Female Athlete of the Year. Brown holds five individual records at Mizzou and ran on eight record-setting relay teams.

After her collegiate career Kaiser-Brown represented the United States on 16 national teams, highlighted by running a leg on the U.S. silver medal women's 4x400-meter relay at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. She was also a member of the 1996 U.S. Olympic team and has a total of four World Championship medals, including a gold medal in the 4x400 relay in 1993.

Kaiser-Brown competed in 16 Drake Relays, winning the invitational 400 meters at the 1990, 1993, and 1998 Drake Relays and was inducted into the 1995 Drake Relays Athletes Hall of Fame.

The enshrinement will take place Sunday, January 31 at 5p.m. at the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield, Mo.
