DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University men's soccer team has added three student-athlete transfers, head coach Sean Holmes announced Thursday, Feb. 26. The three transfers who enrolled at the start of the spring semester are Andrew Platon (Carmel, Ind.), Alex Prusa (Omaha, Neb.) and Adam Weatherly (Parkville, Mo.)
“These three guys have been on campus for a few weeks and have quickly integrated in our team culture,” said Holmes. “They understand the athletic, academic and social obligations of being a Division I student-athlete and we are really happy they choose to join us at Drake.”
Platon transferred from Pacific University where he played in nine matches with four starts in his freshman season for the Tigers. He played one season of varsity high school soccer for Bellarmine College Prep before going on to play club soccer with the Santa Cruz Breakers.
Prusa spent two seasons at Creighton, redshirting in 2013 before appearing in eight matches in 2014. A three-year starter in high school at Creighton Prep, he helped the Bluejays claim back-to-back Nebraska Class A state titles.
Weatherly joins the Drake program after two seasons at Maple Wood Community College (Mo.). He helped Maple Wood go a combined 21-5 during that time. He played high school soccer for Park Hill South and was a first-team all-state selection as a senior.
